"Seed varies in size from the giant Coconut to tiny Lobelia with over 25,000 seeds to a gm, and even smaller. Each seed has the basic details of the potential plant, the primordial shoot and root and food reserves to start germination and early growth. The lecture covers the types of seeds and their methods of treatment, including washing, using acids, hot and cold, light and darkness, chemicals within the compost, plant secretions and fungi associations (mycorrhiza), and how to grow seedlings to maturity.
